Day 82
ACT I
Scene 1
This is a fantasy... based on reality
INT: A top a castle - Day
Jared stands alone, he is dressed in a white top and bronze
armor sleeves and boots. His sword is innocently laying by
his side. A shield is seemingly permanently strapped to his
arm. The wind runs through his hair. A knight similarly
dressed but in a helmet completely covering his face calls
for him
KNIGHT
Sir Jared. We are ready to head out, will you not fight
with us?
JARED
I am not interested in your affairs. I care not for
harmony or discord, I just want peace.
KNIGHT
You will not receive any peace if you simply stand
aside and do nothing while the seals of this world are
destroyed by those creatures.
JARED
Do you even know what will happen if the seals are
destroyed?
KNIGHT
Of course, the world will be thrown in disorder and
everything will be destroyed
JARED
But how do we know that exactly?
KNIGHT
The world was on the brink of dying before you were
born
JARED
Yes, before I was born. Right before in fact
Jared slumps, his shield still attached to him,
trying to shake it off but his attempts are futile
KNIGHT
Well will you join us or not?

CONTINUED: 2.
JARED
In the fight to save the seal?
KNIGHT
We must protect it and Lieutenant Crimen, he and his
behemoth await us there. His pact with the creature
makes him very impatient, and we truly need you and
your immense strength.
Jared ponders a moment and picks up his sword and
sheathes it in its scabbard at his waist.
JARED
Fine, I will join you. Now leave me.
KNIGHT
We all thank you
JARED
I know...
The Knight leaves and Jared is once again alone,
he takes a large deep breath.
JARED
AEQUITAS!
Jared calls out on the top of his lungs. Suddenly
a deafening roar is heard and a black dragon
descends upon the castle. His wings are the color
of dried blood and his eyes are the color of gold.
AEQUITAS
You called my boy?
JARED
I have been called into battle...
AEQUITAS
You must defend the seal correct? And they require our
help?
JARED
Yes, it seems so. Monsters are running over the place
causing havoc desiring the destruction of the seals.
once again
AEQUITAS
So it begins again I see.
JARED
Again?
(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 3.
AEQUITAS
The war seventeen years ago
JARED
Yes, that war.
AEQUITAS
No matter, I shall burn them all to ash. Now come my
boy, onto my back which you grew so fond of in your
childhood.
The dragon turns around in mid-air and exposes its
back to Jared. Jared jumps on top of the castle
and leaps off onto the dragon’s neck.
JARED
What a meaningless battle...
AEQUITAS
There is no such thing as a meaningful battle.
The dragon flaps its wings and begins to fly off
into the distance. Fire crackles in his jaws and
he gives off a powerful roar. From below a company
of knights are riding on their horses. One girl,
leading the troupe looks up to see the dragon
flying overhead, casting a large demonic shadow.
She is very beautiful, wearing light silver armor
and baggy pants along with a red Qi Pao top. She
also has a white head band strapped to her
forehead and has long red hair flowing down her
shoulders.
LABILLIS
As the dragon becomes more powerful, does it not seem
that evil grows with it?
The knight who spoke with Jared before now rides
side by side with Labillis
KNIGHT
No noble man rides a black dragon...
LABILLIS
Do not speak of him that way, you knave. He is a much
better person.
KNIGHT
He is the dragon child, he will combat everything and
destroy them all with the power given to him by that
black dragon.

CONTINUED: 4.
LABILLIS
He did not make a pact with the creature, he has not
lost himself to the dragon, he can make his own
decisions and I trust them with all my heart.
KNIGHT
Whatever you say ma’am.
LABILLIS
A pact, a horrible price must be given in order to
uphold it. I pity all of those who enter a pact.
KNIGHT
The only way to rise up in the ranks is to enter into a
pact with a creature of great strength.
LABILLIS
That is not true, watch your tongue! Our last general
did not need a pact and he lead us well.
KNIGHT
Yes... to his death.
LABILLIS
I will hear no more!
Jared and Aequitas still flew in the air as the
knights had their argument down below them.
Aequitas grumbled
JARED
What is it Aequitas?
AEQUITAS
I sense monsters, flying rats. They may be at their
peak of power but they are but mere babies when faced
against a dragon. Learn my boy that in the air, no one
can best a dragon.
Aequitas roared and sped up. Jared held on tight
as he went faster. Jared looked ahead and saw
flying griphons, their claws scratching in the
air.
JARED
There! I see them, we must kill them so they do not
attack the knights.
AEQUITAS
My thoughts exactly boy, they do not belong in the
skies.

CONTINUED: 5.
Aequitas approaches the monsters, they scream, in
terror or in fury Jared does not know but what he
does is that they will be incenerated by Aequitas’
blaze. Aequitas launches a fireball from his jaws
and it strikes one of the griphons and it
instantly melts away.
AEQUITAS
Hah, it should’ve known better than to fight against
me! My boy, fire is not all we dragons are capable of,
we have magical powers.
JARED
Like?
AEQUITAS
Watch and learn boy, this is a new lesson for you, we
are not frying cows for dinner, but slaughtering
monsters now. Witness one of the secrets of the great
dragon race!
Aequitas creates a circle in front of his mouth
and breathes fire on it, it then seperates into
multiple beams of black light that pierce the
monsters bodies simultaneously. Jared stares in
amazement
JARED
I had no idea that you had such power
AEQUITAS
That is only the beginnin my child, now let’s move.
Crimen awaits us. The damned fool made a pact with a
beast as foolish as the behemoth.
JARED
The behemoth, what is so special about the behemoth?
AEQUITAS
It is simply a beast of carnal rage and power. It is
not capable of intelligent thought like us dragons. The
price for his pact was the loss of having his stomach
satisfied. He will spend an eternity in hunger.
JARED
How horrible.
AEQUITAS
Do you not see what humans will do for power? You
should not become greedy like them, it will ruin you.
The dragon roared once more and continued its
flight. Jared looks into the distance in sadness.

CONTINUED: 6.
JARED
Did all the lieutenants make pacts with monsters?
AEQUITAS
From what I know, yes... Crimen made a pact with the
behemoth. Lieutenant Despero, the only female
lieutenant, made a pact with a flying creature of some
sort, I believe it was a Garuda. Then there is
Lieutenant Contemno made a pact with those damned
goblins. And there was one more, but I do not seem to
remember his name or his pact partner. But does it
matter, the seals are protected from being destroyed.
That is all.
JARED
The seals, yes...
Jared ponders as the dragon continues to fly. He
flares his nostrils. His nostrils flare up
AEQUITAS
Boy, where is your mind? We descend upon the enemy now!
Jared snaps back into reality and sees that they
are in the land of the first seal. The ground is
black with ash and volcanoes and mountains
surround the area, as the eye can see smoke is
filling the atmosphere. It is a dark and gloomy
place. The air smells like sulphur. Jared looks
down ready to descend
Scene 2
Aequitas roars as he spirals down, his body like
an arrow. Jared spots a group of knights
surrounded by ogres.
JARED
Let me down here Aequitas!
AEQUITAS
Fine, but take care of yourself my boy. These battles
are not as easy as you think. They take a toll on the
heart and mind as well.
Aequitas flies down and Jared jumps off and draws
his sword from its scabbard. The knights gasp,
Labillis is with them in a kung-fu stance
LABILLIS
You have arrived, are you ready?

CONTINUED: 7.
JARED
I am...
There is a different look in Jared’s eyes as he
draws his blade. It is not of kindness, but pure
animosity. The ogres approach him slowly, with
axes in hand. They grunt and close in on Jared but
he swings his sword and one is easily cut in
half. The ogres still attack in their numbers but
they are slain by Jared’s blade.
AEQUITAS
The ash and dust in the air makes it hard to
distinguish between friend or foe, but does that matter
to you at all?
Jared makes a spinning slash and the turbulence
from the blow expands and cut open the ogres in a
shower of dirtied blood. Jared stands within the
carnage and holds his sword at his side.
AEQUITAS
Must you slaughter so many?
From the ground bones rise and skeletons are
formed, carrying long halberds. Jared jumps to
them and swings his sword at them but they do not
fall.
LABILLIS
Jared, not like that, you cannot destroy the undead
with anger alone. Watch
Labillis acrobatically cartwheels and back flips
to one of the undead and kicks its spear away and
she slams her palm into its stomach, she pulls out
brown beads attached by a string and she throws it
around the zombie and pulls it inward, binding the
zombie.
LABILLIS
Repent!
Labillis takes a deep breath and light emerges
from the beads and the zombie explodes with a
bright light. She performs the same action on the
remaining undead while Jared watches in earnest.
JARED
Amazing Labillis.
Labillis turns red but then snaps back to normal

CONTINUED: 8.
LABILLIS
It was nothing, come on, we must go to the seal.
AEQUITAS
Are you done with your pointless killing?
JARED
Yes, the seal awaits, we must end this battle now.
Jared jumps onto the dragon’s back as it lands.
Aequitas flicks his tail at ogres behind it.
Labillis grabs Jared’s hand and jumps up
LABILLIS
Quickly, this war for the seal shall end
AEQUITAS
A wise man chooses death before war. A wiser man
chooses not to be born
Labillis looks confused, not understanding the
tongue Aequitas speaks in
LABILLIS
What is it telling you?
JARED
Oh yes, I forgot you can’t speak in Aequitas’language.
It is nothing to be concerned of.
AEQUITAS
One can only speak to a dragon unless one has made a
pact with one, actually if one is a pact-partner with a
beast one can communicate with all other pact-partners.
Convenient, no?
JARED
I see.
Aequitas breathes fire balls at ogre groupings as
he flew forward, then a loud roar was heard.
AEQUITAS
I hear the call of a behemoth. It must be Crimen’s pact
beast. It takes a lot for a behemoth to cry like that.
However I cannot enter the shrine. You two must go in
alone.
Aequitas lands in front of a cave and Jared and
Labillis jump off and run in the cave. The cries
of people resound throughout the entire cave.

CONTINUED: 9.
JARED
What is this, it smells of fire and death?
LABILLIS
The seal in this land is a cauldron that requires human
lives to keep the fire burning. The people we use are
the remnants of the Empire from the war before our
time. They are now martyrs to a good cause
JARED
But, so much death...
Jared looks down, choking back tears.
LABILLIS
It is necessary to keep the world in order
JARED
But... it doesn’t seem right
LABILLIS
It’s for a good cause
JARED
Fine then...
They continue running, they approach a stone door
that was blown open by some great force.
JARED
Could it be magic?
LABILLIS
Probably, stay behind me. Something is not right
Labillis and Jared enter the shrine of the seal.
There is a large purple monster with the face of a
lion and horns of a deer screaming with agony,
standing on its hind legs.
BEHEMOTH
Much...pain...hurts!
CRIMEN
Took you two long enough, help me here! I am so damned
hungry!
Jared takes a good look at the lieutenant, he is a
heavily armored, yet short man with long fire red
hair, he carries a giant steel boomerang on his
back. The behemoth swings its arm at a figure
enveloped in smoke but easily misses. The figure
wipes away the smoke and it is revealed to be a

young woman, she has short blonde hair and red
eyes. She is wearing a short brown top with lace
sleeves and leather pants with a green jacket
knotted at her waist.
CRIMEN
Don’t just stand there, if the seal is broken by that
witch, I’m going to die!!!
The behemoth whips its tail at the witch but she
gracefully jumps back with the elegance of a
dancer.
AMOR
I can’t let you keep these people oppressed and led to
the slaughter.
CRIMEN
They are remnants of the empire, they are nothing but
coal to this fire. They deserve it, we are the knights.
We are the heroes!
Crimen throws his boomerang at Amor but she
deflects it with a spell and is sent back to
Crimen and it knocks him over along with Jared and
Labillis. The Behemoth is now confused on what to
do.
AMOR
Poor soul, you gave up the feeling of being satisfied.
So sad.
CRIMEN
Don’t mock me witch, I am a lieutenant, and you are no
one! No one I tell you! Dammit I am so hungry!
AMOR
You are wrong, it’s too bad you will not know the
truth.
Amor turns to a large cauldron shaped like the
jaws of a beast and launches a lightning bolt at
it and the bolt enters it and causes it to
explode.
CRIMEN
NOOOOO! The seal is broken, my life is over... Damn, so
hungry.
Crimen and the behemoth start to burst into flames
and they disappear. Labillis falls to her knees
(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 11.
LABILLIS
I have failed as a knight. I must redeem the
lieutenant!
She charges for Amor with her fists ready, she
makes a quick kick but Amor dodges it.
LABILLIS
Jared, do something about her!
Jared rushes forward and attacks with his sword,
taken by surprise Amor blocks with her staff. At
closer inspection Amor had a very mysterious
beauty to her, her eyes seemed to peer into his
soul.
AMOR
You, have a different look in your eyes. Yours are not
the eyes of a warrior.
Jared throws her back, hiding his embarrassment
and suddenly the ceiling caves in and Aequitas
descends.
AEQUITAS
Human’s shrines are all built on sand. They easily
crumble under a dragon’s strength
AMOR
A black dragon?
Amor looks up at Aequitas and Labillis binds her
with the beads.
LABILLIS
I have you now
AMOR
Congratulations, now what do you plan to do?
LABILLIS
I will have you executed of course...
AMOR
I was not talking to you, I was talking to him
Amor points to Jared, he stands confused on what
to do.
AEQUITAS
Such a proud witch.
(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 12.
AMOR
Proud is not the word.
AEQUITAS
You understand me girl child? You are a lady of the
highest praise.
AMOR
Thank you
JARED
Aequitas, we must bring her to camp.
AEQUITAS
I see, so she may be put on display while humans kill
their own race. Humans are a race to be pitied.
Jared takes Amor and put her on Aequitas’ back and
jumped on along with Labillis.
LABILLIS
You have performed a most heinous crime
AMOR
It was not a crime, those people were oppressed by your
rule. I did them a service by destroying the seal
LABILLIS
Shut your mouth, you will receive your judgment!
AEQUITAS
Judgment, she thinks she is a god, you certainly have a
fiery one on you Jared my boy.
AMOR
Oh I see now. You have been brainwashed by them too.
But I see...
Jared stays silent but Labillis is simply
infuriated. They fly to the camp where Jared spots
a man with long dark hair and golden armor and a
cape.
LABILLIS
That’s general Saevio! Is he here to give the witch her
punishment?
Aequitas descends and Jared and Labillis take Amor
and put her in front of the general, he has a
sword strapped to his back. He gives a sinister
grin

CONTINUED: 13.
SAEVIO
Is this the one who destroyed the seal?
AMOR
That is I, I freed the people...
SAEVIO
Nonsense, you let this land gone rampant and
disorderly, you know the price you must pay for this,
correct?
AMOR
Execution I suppose?
SAEVIO
Oh, you catch on quick. Well do you wish to choose your
execution? Beheading or burned at the cross.
AMOR
I choose to burn.
SAEVIO
So you wish to receive the more painful punishment.
I’ve never seen that before. We shall set up for it.
Hours pass and a wooden cross is set up. Amor is
tied to it. Labillis holds a torch.
LABILLIS
Burn for your sins.
She throws the torch down and the bramble around
Amor’s feet starts to burn but something happens.
The ground splits open and water rushes and puts
out the fire. Amor is then nowhere to be seen. But
Jared hears a voice
AMOR
Now you see what your knights are capable of, what
shall be your choice?
JARED
What the knighs are doing are wrong, but I do not know
what to do...
Aequitas whispers to himself. He sees the changes
in Jared taking place
AEQUITAS
It has been set in motion... He has found his calling,
what shall he do now?
