Mood: Quite Amazed
The light footsteps of Odelia, the goddess of deceit approached the god of desire Opalescence. Her skin was white which was offset by her short crow black bob cut and black ballerina dress, an outfit befitting her name. Her movements seemed deliberate, the way she clicked her heels or swayed her hands. Like it was all an act for some unknown spectator.
“It seems as if you have snatched a human, I must congratulate you, I didn’t know you had it in you, oh it wasn’t you entirely, it was Alice, and a little bit of my magic.” Odelia smiled and opened her hand and revealed a small hand full of black feathers that became lost in the wind. Compared to the god, she was tremendously small. Her near average height was nothing compared to Opalescence who was over seven feet tall, probably taller if he wasn’t hunched over in his suit of armor that has become one with his body. Green orbs of light were stationed where his eyes have once been. And they were glaring at the goddess, he knew that the gods did not enjoy each other’s presence. Their desire was to destroy one another and absorb their power, but as gods they believed that they were so strong and everyone was so weak that they could do whatever they pleased.
“The dragoon, I assume that’s who you are talking about?” Opalescence spoke through his armor, his voice not muffled, but metallic and booming. He truly sounded like a god.
“Yes, it seems like Alice has snipped her in the bud. You must be so proud of her. Oh you gods and your weapons, like a doting father and their little girls. Of course I couldn’t possibly hope of making one.” Odelia laughed, her voice haughty and proud. Opalescence grumbled, he resented that a personality like Odelia was a goddess. Opalescence felt like he was the only one who deserved the title, he was honorable and tolerant, very tolerant. He didn’t flaunt his power or declare foolish challenges with others. He wanted his opponent to become stronger so they can face on equal grounds rather than simply overpowering them. It would be foolish and he fed on their desire to become stronger. It was in his nature to see them grow and win. Vika’s betrayal was just an elaborate plot for her to become stronger and kill Alice. He knew what would happen, she didn’t but he sure did. Odelia was blinded too, she even deceived herself. Odelia thought she had deceived Matilda to think that she was useless alone but that wasn’t the case. Matilda would then have the desire to strengthen her resolve and her friends would help that bond grow. The war would end and everyone will be happy, even the departed gods and warriors of discord, though some will be in disdain.
“It is all according to the plan.” Opalescence said as ambiguous as possible, if Odelia was smart she would know what he was trying to say, but her ego blinded her, just like the other gods. Though he believed Gig was a difficult and fickle character to predict, fate seemed to twist and gnarl around him.
“Yes, of course, you and your plans, you will have them turn against themselves, oh, you were never suited to the battlefield, hence all the armor. A true warrior doesn’t need to drown himself in iron and steel. Just in the blood of others.” Odelia said, however, her words were not insulting to Opalescence since his armor was a necessity, his powers were sealed within them. If he unleashed them, the overwhelming desires. He didn’t want to imagine it anymore and he shook his head.
“Leave the Crystal Realm.” Opalescence commanded and Odelia giggled.
“Oh struck a nerve there. Well ta-ta. Remember, the show will go on.” Odelia pirouetted and then disappeared in a cloud of black feathers. Opalescence then drew his halberd and blew away the feathers smashing crystals dozens of feet away from where he stood.
“And the show will end, but it will be not a comedy for you, but a tragedy.” Opalescence withdrew his weapon and stared into the sky, covered by grey clouds.
