Mood: FREEDOM!
“I got a bone to pick with you... Bone.” Cyan announced to the trickster Bone. Bone had short brown hair partially covering his forehead, he wore glasses with black lenses and wore a white suit, as if he was going to a party rather than a battle. If it wasn’t for his horrible posture he could be considered handsome, however he could not fix his problems, no matter what kind of hypnotism he used on himself.
“Yah, so...” Bone said, trying not to turn around, he thought himself superior to the likes of Cyan, she probably thought so too. She was small, thin and wasn’t good in magic like the other mages and not much of a physical fighter either. Bone put ideas into people’s head through hypnotism and made them think that they were sick, dizzy or even blind. He had her beat even if she challenged him, but it wasn’t in his nature, like fixing his back. He was simply too lazy, he didn’t like fighting and his enemy only followed orders, which led to severe problems on the battlefield, when Bone’s desire to take a nap became overwhelming. Fenril had been merciful so far as commanded by Cornell but he wondered how long he would be there. Cornell was fighting against Katarina, another willing fighter and if Katarina won, what would hold back Fenril?
“What’s the big idea, just going up and leaving?” Cyan snapped.
“I’ll do what the hell I want!”
“Oh hell no!” Cyan yelled as she pulled out a book from thin air.
“You gonna fight me?” Bone asked finally turning around pulling a deck of cards from his side satchel. He shuffled them.
“Hell yah!” Cyan opened the book and the pages started to turn rapidly in the wind. She raised her hand into the air and began to yell gathering energy in the form of a yellow ball of lightning. Bone opened his eyes in amazement, he never knew she could generate magic of this magnitude. The ball only grew larger and larger until it was probably larger than he was. Bone lost the will to fight and dropped the cards.
“Whoa hold up there Cyan, you really really don’t want to do that.” Bone tried to suggest to Cyan, one of his powers. He could use the power of suggestion to make her stop. His words were laced with magic, and it was hard to resist, only the strong of mind could. And unfortunately Cyan was very fortuitous. The ball of magic then started to spark wildly.
“Thunder Flare Tome!” Cyan chanted and she threw the thunder ball and Bone fell backwards and closed his eyes. After a few seconds he opened them and saw that the thunderbolt only destroyed the tiles in front of his crotch and legs and he was completely safe from harm. He took a deep breath. Cyan then walked over to him and lent him her hand. “Get up.” She said trying to be intimidating but it failed miserably.
“When did you get this strong?”
“I don’t know, but you shouldn’t give up on yourself either, laziness can be cured... I think.” Cyan said and tried to think. She finally pulled him up and dusted off his suit. He then wrapped his arm around her shoulder.
“Come on, let’s go home.”
“Wait... That’s it?”
“Hell yeah, you did good.” Bone smiled and tousled her hair and they walked home back to their base learning a valuable lesson.
