Day 16

Mood: Like I care

“As much as I like to prove you wrong, you’re right.” Cyan muttered with a sharp tongue as she rubbed her wide forehead. Jacoban who was standing next to her smiled, though his robes prevented anyone from seeing anything but his brown slanted eyes. Katarina, the designated muscle of the group was recently knocked out and was unconscious.
“Well right now, it doesn’t matter, we’ve been separated from the group and there’s no way we can defend ourselves since Katarina got blown up.” Jacoban said as he tried to shake the young brown skinned beauty awake.
“Why can’t you just mimic her abilities like you do all the time?” Cyan pushed up her glasses which were cracked by the rim and covered in dust.
“I can’t mimic unconscious people or people that are not within a certain range.” Jacoban picked up Katarina and started to walk with her.
“So you’re totally useless.” Cyan complained as she fell to her knees. “We’re so dead.”
“At least I have your powers.” Jacoban stated as a book materialized in his hand with a flash of light.
“Yah, the most useless powers, might as well go mimic a rock.”
“That wouldn’t be beneficial.” Jacoban made the book disappear in shards of fragmented light.
“I’m not like Katarina, Aless or Dios, I can’t enchant blades, summon espers or deal killing blows, all I can do is analyze enemies and hope the others can take care of it.” Cyan went into fetal position. Jacoban paused and then let Katarina down next to him.
“I can’t do anything without the help of others, I’m useless. I’m only as strong as all of us can be. You have your own abilities, use them well.” Jacoban tried to comfort the fallen scholar and pat her shoulder. “You can use magic right, more than your analysis ability, right?” Jacoban asked and Cyan nodded her head. “Than let’s get moving, because if you believe in your own power than you also believe in mine, since your power is my power.” Jacoban stood up again and dragged Katarina with him. Her fancy pants getting ruined on the dusty volcanic rock. “Come on then.” Jacoban said, coercing Cyan to follow him. Cyan complied and began to stroll with Jacoban and their sleeping Mystic Knight.
“So what is it like to mimic someone’s powers?” Cyan asked out of nowhere.
“It’s like being linked to someone.”
“What about Justice’s darkness?”
“Why are you so concerned with him using the power of darkness.”
“Because darkness is evil, right? We’re fighting against the dark forces, aren’t we?”
“There’s a large difference between darkness and evil.”
“Aren’t they one in the same?”
“No, it’s not, it’s really not.”
“Then explain because there are so many bad guys who use the power of darkness.”
“Like who, and don’t say Rose.” Jacoban demanded. Cyan pouted.
“Lucian.”
“He uses the power from dead souls, not darkness.”
“Dizzy.”
“Her powers come from the evil in humanity’s heart. So not exactly darkness.”
“But is it close?”
“No, darkness is something else entirely.”
“Oh I know, Deathscythe.”
“So there’s two now.”
“Darkside.”
“Three, three out of thirty, that’s one tenth.”
“I think there’s more.” Cyan continued.
“Who?”
“Gig? Your destined enemy.” Cyan pointed out and Jacoban stood in place pondering.
“I don’t think so, his power is sad, it’s the power of destruction, everything he does leads to ruin.”
“It’s sad? Like boo hoo sad?” Cyan asked pretending to make tears.
“Yes, he’s a miserable person. He’s so alone in the world with no one to be his friend.”
“But what about Tsubaki, his artificial causality weapon?”
“She relieves his burden but not by much. The power of destruction is a cruel power to be given.”
“So you pity him.”
“Yes, of course. There’s not much I can feel for him.”
“Hatred.”
“He did nothing to me.”
“But if he wins, he’ll kill you.”
“But if I win, I’ll have to kill him.”
“But you’ll need us around to win.”
“I know that.”
“What if you’re alone?” Cyan grabbed Jacoban’s sleeve.
“I’ll figure something out, it’ll all be good, eventually.” Jacoban gave her a thumbs up.
“You’re kind of stupid you know that?” Cyan pushed Jacoban’s hand away now feeling stupid for being concerned.
“So are you.” Jacoban said as they continued on into the sunset.
