Mood: Symmetrical (I’m OCD like that)
In the castle of the king of the night Adrian stood alone in the door to the Dark Chapel. For some reason he could not enter. There was a barrier of darkness barring his path. He put his hand to the spectral wall. The aura surrounding the door created a demonic face and it went to bite Adrian’s hand off. The dhampir quickly snapped his hand back and the skull chomped on thin air and dissipated. “This magic, it seems familiar, but it escapes me. It’s unfortunate. It seems to be right in front of me, yet is separated.” Adrian pondered, putting his armored hand to his beautiful chin. He was from head to toe in armor forged especially for him during the times of his youth and although he has existed for hundreds of years, his appearance hasn’t changed and the armor still fits him like it did when he was only nineteen. He was now almost seven hundred years old. Many have mistaken him for being even older considering his power, but others thought him to be younger because of the human blood in him. Unlike most dhampirs he did not curse his human blood but cursed none. His birth was that of a loving union until humans killed his mother, claiming her to be a witch. However not being overcome with rage, he forgave the humans for their foolishness and spent his years traveling, away from his father. He then fell in love with a human and she had a child, he became a strong man but knew naught of his origin. Adrian raised the boy like he should and blessed the heavens he did not develop his vampiric powers. He thought it to be a gift from his departed mother. Adrian continued to ponder the power of the aura surrounding the door when he heard the footsteps of Kokoro Belmont slowly behind him. He knew without looking, there was an odd scent about her. And her name only added to his suspicions. “Can I help you Belmont?” Adrian asked.
“Please, don’t call me Belmont, it was my ancestors’ name. I’m not a full fledged Belmont just yet.” Kokoro sighed and kicked a cobble stone. There was a long silence. “Oh yes...” Kokoro chimed in. “I felt something strange over here. I came over to check it out but it seems you came here before me.” Kokoro tried to force a laugh but it was not convincing. Adrian glared at her.
“This is my father’s castle, even after his death it still lives on, even though his body and soul has perished. I am its new master. I find it odd that you can enter here without going insane, you are human correct?” Adrian asked Kokoro.
“Your father huh? Yah I have daddy issues too. I’m doing this to show my dad I can fight, that I can keep our name going.” Kokoro stated her hair bobbing to her swing. Adrian raised a snow white eyebrow. Kokoro paused and then turned red in embarrassment. “Our family were vampire hunters. My daddy was supposed to be the last one but I want to continue the name. Especially because I’ve been getting these strange dreams.” Adrian’s attention was instantly directed towards Kokoro.
“What kind of dreams, do tell.” Adrian requested. He drew closer and Kokoro stepped back and put her hand to her hip. There rested what looked like a large cross. Adrian then drew back knowing the weapon’s capabilities.
“I’m approached, by a man, old. Pale skin, much paler than yours and he has white hair, also not like yours, an old guys’ grey hair. He wears only black and red and looks like its real expensive. And he’s surrounded by bats with glowing eyes and this weird dark haze. And he tells me that I’m the one. He just says I’m the one and I will accept his power and become mighty. And then his eyes glow, like the bats, red like blood.” Kokoro said, shivering in fear.
“Father...” Adrian whispered just low enough that Kokoro couldn’t hear it.
“So I am fighting with my own power, and this family heirloom.” She brought out the cross from her side. She then swung it and a long metal chain came out and almost hit Adrian who dodged just at the right time. He was certain that it was the Vampire Killer. A weapon wielded by the Belmonts to slay Adrian’s father. He knew she wouldn’t use it against him but it was still dangerous just being around it. “Oh sorry!” Kokoro drew it back. “I’m usually less clumsy when I have it out...” Kokoro looked down at it.
“No, I see. It’s just the effects of this castle. It makes even the strongest act like a mere infant. Many have fallen to its powers.” Adrian tried to console the girl but realized his choice of words weren’t so great.
“Oh I get it, that’s probably it. So what’s with the door. No one can get through huh?” Kokoro said, switching topics. Adrian took a sigh of relief.
“That is correct Belmont. It seems that a powerful dark force is restricting us from entering. It seems to have a connection to someone in this realm.”
“Kid?” Kokoro asked, referring to Lucian the Kid, she believed that Lucian was actually his father and he couldn’t think of anything original for his son.
“No, the aura isn’t like that of a reaper, I think someone even more powerful and darker.” Adrian said.
“Darkside.”
“He has his own controlled space.”
“Rose.”
“Her too.”
“How about Joachim?”
“He has the gallows here. This is the Dark Chapel.” Adrian sighed again, turning up blank after blank.
“Dark Chapel. Let’s see who’s religious?” Kokoro thought, tilting her head and then decided to put her hand to the barrier. Adrian couldn’t react in time and the skull that tried to eat Adrian came after her. As soon as it went to her hand it dissipated and went back into the barrier. “Odd, I think I know who it is. It’s a controlled space but it doesn’t belong to anyone on our team. It’s waiting for someone else to release it.” Kokoro gasped.
“Who could it be?”
“It’s Justice, only he has the dark powers to create something like this.”
“But that means he must have some connection to my father’s castle... but how?” Adrian exclaimed trying to make sense of the situation.
“Could Justice be a descendant of yours?” Kokoro asked.
“Of mine, impossible.” Adrian lied, it was probable but unlikely. But it would explain Justice’s powers over darkness. And his Blood Cain was similar to his Dark Metamorphosis. And he did smell funny, like Kokoro. They had similar scents. Then it hit him. Justice’s ancestors were the Belmonts, and Kokoro was his daughter from the future. And both were his descendants.
